Betta fish (Betta splendens), also known as Siamese fighting fish, are one of the most popular and visually stunning freshwater fish available. Known for their vibrant colours and flowing fins, they make a captivating centrepiece for any aquarium.

Care Information

• Temperature: 24–28°C (75–82°F)
• pH: 6.5–7.5
• Tank Size: Minimum 10 litres (larger is always better)
• Aggressiveness: High — male Bettas must be kept alone or with peaceful, non-fin-nipping tank mates. Females can sometimes be kept together in a sorority tank.
• Diet: Carnivorous — enjoy high-protein pellets, frozen or live bloodworm, and brine shrimp
• Lifespan: 2–5 years
