Famous for its dramatic red throat flare and bold personality, the Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki) is a striking Central American species that makes a magnificent centerpiece in larger community or cichlid aquariums.
While territorial during spawning, they are generally peaceful compared to other cichlids, displaying incredible iridescence, olive-grey body tones, and vibrant red coloration along their gill covers and underbelly.
